Update on Autism Run…

118

In a Previous Post we told you how proud we were of our Neighborhood Specialist Megan DeHart for taking part of such a wonderful event.  We wanted to update you, our wonderful readers, on the event!

autism-run

“Last Saturday, over 3,000 people gathered at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh to support the autism community and Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC). The money raised from this event enables ASNC to provide advocacy and education services, vocational and day programs, supported living homes, recreational opportunities, specialized training, and legislative monitoring for the over 50,000 individuals across our state with autism spectrum disorder. Together, we can make a difference….and last Saturday, we did!

Gross proceeds from this event are over $230,000 and counting. We are still accepting donations through the event website. If you have friends, family members, co-workers, or other contacts who have not made their donation yet, please let them know that they can still support your efforts as well as the Autism Society of North Carolina.

Some numbers from this year’s event:
•    Over 166 teams participated from all over the state.
•    There were over 2600 participants in the 5K race, the 1 mile run/walk and the Carolina Hurricanes Kid’s Dash events.
•    115 virtual participants raised money for the cause online.
•    240 volunteers worked throughout the day.

Thanks to our sponsors for helping this event in so many different ways! Without our sponsors we could not have the event. Please click here to view our sponsors. We encourage you to support these businesses throughout the year and let them know how much it means to you that they sponsor the Autism Society of North Carolina.

Sincerely,

The Autism Society of North Carolina
